Last week, Parliament was in recess and I took the opportunity to visit our army garrison in the Brunei jungle with a cross-party group of MPs.
On this trip I learnt about the unique capabilities maintaining the Brunei garrison offers the UK, including jungle warfare training for UK troops, and a strategic position in the South China sea. I also spoke with Gurkha soldiers about their experiences serving all around the world defending Britain’s interests.
